Closed-beta privacy notice

Guest practice remains local to this browser. Approved closed-beta accounts use TypeAndLearn's hosted account and progress service for cross-device learning, families, classrooms, assignments, and validated rankings.

Data paths

  • Guest runs, local settings, XP, streaks, and badges can be stored in localStorage on this device.
  • Closed-beta accounts store account details, learner profiles, settings, progress, classroom membership, assignments, and score-validation records in Supabase. Raw custom practice text and password values are not stored in application tables.
  • Supervised learners sign in with revocable household or classroom codes; those codes are stored only as hashes.

Optional processing

  • Product analytics, marketing email, contextual advertising, and third-party ad scripts remain off in the closed beta.
  • Validated leaderboards are opt-in for normal adult profiles and show a chosen public alias rather than an email address.
  • Advertising must remain outside typing, lessons, results, authentication, classroom, and policy surfaces if it is activated after review.

Access and deletion

  • Adults can export their account data and submit or cancel a staged deletion request.
  • Parents and authorized classroom pilots manage supervised learner access. Restricted operator controls process deletion requests and revoke classroom pilots.
  • Public production activation stays blocked until named legal, privacy, support, and incident owners are configured. This beta notice is not the final launch policy.
